I am DOPE (Developing Ownership of Personal Empowerment) a motivational enrichment nonprofit organization dedicated to building self-esteem and providing resources and education to men and women of all ages of low socioeconomic status. Our programs support the achievement of building positive self-esteem, identifying individual skill set strengths, and assisting in finding career paths suitable to those strengths. Our goals is to encourage local youth in our community to Develop Ownership of Personal Empowerment.
I am DOPE envisions teens in our community finding a safe and nurturing environment with I am DOPE to build self-esteem and become empowered to grow into the best version of themselves at home, at work, and as members of our community.

I am DOPE is excited to offer the young athletes of Bull City Bruins and other athletic programs that commit to our program with financial support to offset the cost of athletic club memberships. Leadership skills and self-esteem in our participants are among our core values. We believe participation in competitive sports is an effective way for our participants to grow in these areas.
Scholarships will be awarded on one of the following basis:
Performance-based - player demonstrates exceptional
Need-based
Merit-based
The recipient understands the following scholarship requirements:
Must clear any remaining previous balance from the previous season
Maintain a 90% attendance rate for I am DOPE Leadership Workshops during the season. Applicants that maintain 90% attendance during the off-season will be prioritized during the award process (remember, scholarships are limited!)
Abide by the Bull City Bruins player code of conduct
All basketball uniforms are the property of Bull City Bruins and must be returned within 7-days of the last tournament of the season or upon leaving from the team
The recipient understands that by failing to comply, the award could be rescinded and they will be responsible for the remaining portion of the balance and the full cost of the player's uniform.
Write 3-monthly thank you notes (will sent to sponsors)
Demonstrate growth throughout the season
Demonstrate values of I am DOPE and Bull City Bruins
Abide by the I am DOPE and Bull City Bruins code of conduct
Volunteer services with I am DOPE and Bull City Bruins (fundraising, workshops, outreach, chaperone/car poole, etc.)
Assist with monthly mailing of official thank you notes
Volunteer in all events and fundraisers
